Just bought a 2008 240 Sundeck and love this boat! While flushing the water system running one of the faucets, the stream spurted and became forceful (as if air were coming through the line) and then the pump stopped. The main thermal breaker by the battery was tripped, after I reset it everything worked but the water pump, bilge pump and bilge blower. No fuses were blown, the bilge systems weren't running at the time, I was a bit baffled. Next day the bilge blower and pump worked fine (I did nothing), while the water pump is still showing no evidence of life.

I have two questions/dilemmas:
1. What would make the bilge pump and blower fail to run after resetting a main breaker trip, then start the next day with no intervention? Are there thermal couplers associated with these systems alone?
2. Any thoughts on the pump? The fuse under the helm isn't blown, and voltmeter shows power at the female connector for the pump's plug-in. I checked the screen filter at the pump - and there is none - I wonder if it broke off and jammed the pump or if debris maybe did that, though turning the pump on and opening a faucet does nothing - silence, its not even trying to run. The water system wasn't used for a bit, but was winterized when I got it.

It might be a grounding issue. Check the connections behind the switches, at the panel, and by the fuses.
