Came back to the dock this afternoon plugged in shorepower and no power light on line one. Power light on line 2 and everyting seems to work on line 2. Air cond works but not microwave I think both are on line 1. None of the 110 electric outlets worked on the whole boat. I started the genny and everything on the boat works including the micowave and all electric outlets. Shore power worked fine Sat. night when we left out. Any idea's? Jim

Shore power problem i would say....especially if the genny gives all power to the outlets

Lost a phase, either in the cord or from the plug.

I need to add that I switched the shore power lines at the shore power breaker box and still the same problem

I am REALLY suprised to see this thread as I had the same trouble yesterday, but on Line 2 in the panel. I have all the accessories working but no AC (Line 2) when on shore power. BUT when I turn on the genny everything works fine. All of my items on Line 1 were working on shore power fine.

I too switched the cords in the plugs on shore and checked and reset the breakers on shore and still the same issue. Is there something on board that could be tripped also?

I checked the breakers on the rear wall of the engine compartment and all looked fine, though I did not see a switch for the AC on that panel.

It sounds like you either have line 1 breaker tripped at the slip or marina lost 1 phase. The bottom line is if you see the small red light on the power cable and it's properly plugged in to the boat you should have juice and if things don't work it's interal issue. If the small red light is not on while the shore power breaker in the slip is on and the plug is properly connected, then it's the marina issue.

Jim, check the breakers next to the plugs in the fender locker. They are under the covers above the plug ins. Mine for line 2 was switched to off.

Chalk this up to my HUGE Learning Curve!! At least I did not have to pay to fix it this time! :)

Way to go Scott, but are sure you want to temp the boating gods like that... (Grin)

I am a humble man who deserves his bumps and bruises! I can promise I will NEVER miss that again though!

Thanks Alex, the red light on both cables are on. Going to dock tonight to check all breakers. Scotty, when yall coming back to Allatoona? Checking out everything tonight will advise. Thanks Jim

Make sure you check those breakers in the fender locker!! :)

I miss being so close to the boat and not being at Allatoona that is for sure! There are like 6 boats for sale on our dock alone at Bald Ridge so either everyone is moving up or out of boating I dont know.

How is everybody over there doing? I never see Jay post anymore and I know Chuck is boatless? I have seen Carter and Jedi on here some too.

Thanks Scotty, You saved the day. Not sure how it got turned off but it was. I didn't drink that many cold ones yesterday, but now all is well. I see Jedi and Cater sometimes out but Jay is boatless also. I still talk with him tho. They still have his dads fishing boat @ park, but for now they are into camping. Trying somthing different I guess. Come over and see us sometime and thanks again buddy. Jim

I recently noticed blackening on one of the blades on one of the flanged inlets (the receptacles in the rear compartment that you plug the power cords into on the boat). My cord also had blackening around one of the slots. I purchased a new receptacles at West Marine and had a master electrician friend install. The receptacle was burned and melted inside pretty badly, but everything on the boat still worked. He said that it had been very poorly wired at the factory. Lucky I didn't burn the marina down. Take a look at the blades and look for discoloration.

Hey Chuck, I have seen your "Ms Judy" in dry stack at my marina. Last weekend, my son saw it getting towed back to the marina. Maybe it is a good thing that you sold it. :smt001
BTW: Back in the early 90's, I kept a boat slipped at the Fieldstone Inn. Chatuge is one of my favorites.

Glad that was all it was Jim! I always knew my screw ups would come in handy one day and save someone! :)

How is the boat sale coming? Have you been getting any lookers? They keep bugging us to sell ours and move up because there are "supposed" to be not too many used 340's for sale in our area..........
