Anyone have experience with the Raritan Elegance electric head? My current model leaves quite a bit to be desired.

They have 3 different flush systems available. Normal push button, momentary panel and "smart flush". The smart flush is an automatic multi step process that is supposed to completely evacuate all the "stuff" in the bowl while conserving water. This is what I'm interested in. My new boat has twice the holding tank and we are filling it in a weekend. The head does such a poor job of emptying the bowl we are using a ton of water.

Just looking for opinions or experiences before I drop a boat dollar on a crapper for my kids.

Thanks.

I have no personal experience. I know boaters who swapped VF for Raritans and loved it.

You may want to check around trawler forums or better yet, sailboat forums. Google Vacuflush vs Raritan Elegance and you'll get a lot of info.

Thanks.

The Sundancer had a vacuflush, which worked quite well but I really don't want to change everything over if I don't have to. It would be nice to just bolt down an electric head that works like it should and be done with it.

Just to update this, I did install the Raritan Elegance fresh water head with the smart flush panel and it is quite good. The installation process was difficult due to small spaces and limited access but the end result was worth the effort.

Morning! Anyone know if you can add water manually to a Raritan Elegant system to flush? We have a cracked fitting and water pumps not working until it is fixed ....
TIA!
