EFI 4.7 Mercruiser cuts out?

Hi,I have a searay 28 sunsport with twin EFI 4.7's. Both start first shot (port a fraction quicker). Run well but sometimes after idling beyond 5 knot mark then up around 2800 revs the port engine stops? Nothing happens when the key is turned. Push the emergency power switch and it starts easily. Let the switch go and it stops? Try again with the emergency switch and keep it down for 30 seconds while the engine runs, then it will generally run for ages? Sometimes it might happen 3-4 times in an hour, other times it runs well at all speeds and happens 1/2 hour after you've been out?
Can anyone help?

Check your connections to the battery, starter and alternator first. I never heard of 4.7 engines?

BTW you are right, they are 5.7's!

Ahh, lol, that makes sense! Thought there may be some odd 7 cylinder Australian only model.
