Edicate question.

Ok as most of you all know my boat had a cracked hull inside the engin compartment.

Ok they fixed it under warranty. And since it was there i used my "free detail" coupon that i was given last time the boat was there for the 20 hour service and they left it FILTHY.

Now its all done the repair and the free detail..

The question is.... I have no bill on this whole thing due to warranty and coupon. Now do i have to tip someone and how much? The detail guy? who, and how much? DO i even have to.. whats your suggestions?

Thanks ahead... C rock

oh yea i have to pick it up in a couple of hours so hurry with the responces!!!. lol

It's "educate" with an "i"

I think as long as you don't show up with your rap music blasting and are not naked this time, you'll be good to go.

On the repair – no tip needed.

On the detailing that was done as a gesture from a prior issue, I’m on the fence. It’s free detailing however it was done because they messed up.

Just a idea. About 8 weeks ago we had a heat wave. I was headed to the marina. I stopped at Dairy Queen and picked up some Dilly Bars. I got to the marina and walked around and gave all the workers a Dilly Bar.

A $20 is placed in the pocket and soon spent. A Dilly Bar costs less but I’m remembered as the guy that thought of them on that incredibly hot day. This took me about 10 minutes and with all 3 boxes of Dilly Bars it cost me less then $20.

Dilly Bars? Ha ha ha ha

I think if I showed up with a "Dilly Bar" for my diesel mechanic, he would kick my ass.

Ha ha ha ha

Note to Wesley: I used the "a" word correctly here I believe as it is a noun and not an adjective.

Heck.. I don't know.

But while you all figure out your tips, dilly bars, and where you can be naked in public, I need to go out and transfer 300 gallons of heating oil from my river place to the boat tanks... 10 gallons at a time.

Give the detailer a tip... and put it on your Visa.

hahah.. so ask him if he takes credit tips.. lol.. ill hand him a 20.. thanks.

I think you 2 guys (Frank & Gary) are a little rough on Crock1! He is asking for help and your are picking on him! I don't think you are using proper discussion board "etiquette". One of the reasons people come here is that it is a friendly place. Please don't turn it into one of the other boards.

Personally, I would say no tip is not in order here! They are doing their job and based on your experience leading up to this point it was somewhat reluctantly.

Good Luck!

cRock,

how well was the repair job done? was the glass delaminating in that spot from water intrusion or was it a defect?
