As a replacement carb for a quadrajet which carb do you like best (or recommend) and why? Throttle response, fuel economy, tuning, durablity, ect.

Whichever you choose, be certain that the replacement is approved for marine use. There are some significant safety features for a marine carburetor like bowls that vent to the venturi, sealed throttle shafts, etc.

As a retire hot rodder, my preference is Holley, but Edlebrock makes a decent Carter syle replacement. I also saw a Barry Grant carburetor on a restored ski boat that really looked good but I understand they are kind of pricey.

A friend of mine installed an Edelbrock and had nothing but problems,it ran fat,he tried new metering rods ,jets, but never could get it right.Ultimatley he rebuilt his Rochester and has no problems since.
