Eclipse

I'm getting sick and damned tired of all these ads and specials on TV acting like the world is going to end because of the eclipse.

WTF? These ads (and people) act like we've never had an eclipse before. What a bunch of dumb fuck morons. I'm convinced our society is now filled with a couple of generations of spoiled little babies who spent their life sitting in front of their game box and never made it out into the real world.

GET OVER IT!!!

Anything they can do to add drama. Still waiting for them to start naming rain storms.

I drove from Louisville up to Michigan on I65 yesterday. All of the digital signs along the highway approaching Indy had a message "fuel up, arrive early, stay put, expect delays" or something similar. They are expecting a real $hit show in Indianapolis...

Emmett Fitz-Hume:
“If you let us go, I’ll bring back the sun.”

“Here’s a picture of my sister. If you let us go, you can have her. I hear she’s quite good.”

exactly. you need a rollbar in case you take a turn faster than 10mph.
C'mon Man!
Real trucks are not that top heavy. I get your preference for sports cars, but you should be aware that a Suzuki Samurai or a GEO Tracker are not real trucks.

Coincidentally I had one VERY similar one to that except it was a short bed with 35s. I put a one ton rear end in it and that 300 six would pull my 26' Glastron Caribbean like a champ. Topped out about 62 but it didn't have enough brakes to want to go much faster anyway. Wish I could find a pic to post. That was a galley up hardtop . . .
looked like an ant pulling a watermelon on a roller-skate. :D

They said 10 hours to get downtown Indy from the burbs. I have a tough time believing that but half of us are pretty phucked up and would go down there for a 4 minute show

Cleveland expecting similar...
Owner of the company I work for told everyone to take the day off - If you can, work from home.
Womens final four wrapped up downtown yesterday and the Indians errr. Guardians home opener is today.
Our club is downtown and having a eclipse thing today - not a chance i, hell I'm going near downtown today.

I hope it holds but everyone's weather forecast was as good as it usually is. They were forecasting 50 to 60% cloud cover and at least for right now, there is not a single cloud in the sky.

We live right on the path of totality in the summer. We met some nice folks from central PA here in FL at the rv park. They left last week to go home and then will travel to Erie PA to see the eclipse. They couldn’t understand why we wouldn’t go home 3 weeks early to see it especially since we could see it right from our deck.
I wished Them luck for clear skies and no snow and mentioned that the view would probably be pretty good right here on the big screen at the tiki hut by the pool. Different strokes for different folks. Judging by what they are paying for a camp site up there it sounds as though businesses are cashing in on the opportunity. Hope it’s clear skies for all of you who want to see it in person.

well, as they always say up home..”There’s always next year”

Granddaughter 2 and 4 are running in a track meet today, it has gotten noticeably cooler since the eclipse started.
