Eclipse

We live right on the path of totality in the summer. We met some nice folks from central PA here in FL at the rv park. They left last week to go home and then will travel to Erie PA to see the eclipse. They couldn’t understand why we wouldn’t go home 3 weeks early to see it especially since we could see it right from our deck.
I wished Them luck for clear skies and no snow and mentioned that the view would probably be pretty good right here on the big screen at the tiki hut by the pool. Different strokes for different folks. Judging by what they are paying for a camp site up there it sounds as though businesses are cashing in on the opportunity. Hope it’s clear skies for all of you who want to see it in person.

We're right under it but clouds and rain are now being predicted.
Clouds and rain in Cleveland in April - Can I show you my shocked face?

We drove a couple hours to see the last one in the 100% zone. It was quite the experience, we still talk about it today.

If you’re not too far, getting into the 100% zone is worth it at least once, very different than the partial zones (been there several times).

All I hear is about how everyone is going to lose power and the world ending !!! Whatever

I have been planning this for a year. Will probably have 70 people over. Some from Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, etc.

Smoked beef brisket, rotisserie turkey, and hotdogs for the kids. I’ll send you pictures.

I told everybody a year ago so that they would be able to get reservations because the closer you got to it, you could not get a plane reservation

This is in Carmel, Indiana. Total eclipse time 3 minutes 29 seconds.

In 2017, We were just south of the path of totality here in Beaufort, SC. So we made a boating event out of it. Three of us took our boats up to Isle of Palms and anchored for a few days at Shark Hole. Had a lot of fun. Actual eclipse part was quick and underwhelming, but now we have it checked off the experience list.

My wife is a teacher and had a few use or lose days left so we both took Monday off and are going to somewhere around Andover, Ohio. Erie will be crazy so staying away from there. If the weather is decent we will probably take our new 2005 Roush convertible. Should be cool to watch the eclipse in a convertible.

My daughter is always wheelin' and dealin. A few years ago she went on vacation and Air B&B'd her house out while she was gone. Well she decided to do it again and someone rented it for one night then another family wanted to rent it for the rest of the week so she will be staying with us...lol. The first family is coming up from North Carolina or something to see the eclipse. She said she is getting like $1000 for the week...lol

That was 40 some years ago. First truck in the area with 40's. You would cringe at the lift. Way before lift kits.
HAHAHA. Before lift kits, we used to drill a bolt hole through hockey pucks and layer as needed.

Pretty "Old School".
