Ebay listing

I thought it was strange that such a "luxurious performance yacht" would be sporting 3 blades.

I also don't think bragging about how rare these engines are is a good selling point. Not to mention the $30k worth of spare parts that he just happens to have...

I was involved in the project start to finish. There were two different sets of engines installed. The first set had twin turbos with no water jackets around the exhaust housings. That set had some overheating issues. The second set had the turbos with water jackets as shown in the pics on eBay. The throttles and shifts were originally cable units. We also installed a set of very early prototypes of electronic units being developed by Twin Disc. They had too much lag time on the shifts so we later installed a set of Hynautic shifts and throttles. In the photos it appears they have been changed again. The rep that we worked with from Perkins told us the engines were developed by Rolls Royce for use in tanks. They were rated at 850 hp but were de tuned back to 650 for our project. Later versions of than engine were labeled as Perkins and used in a few of the early Sedan Bridge boats built at Sykes Creek. When we finished with the boat it was sent to PD&E for further testing. When it left the plant there were no RR logos on it.
