Easy Drain Problem?

I have a new to me 320 with 6.2 V drives. I went to drain the engines using the easy drain system only to find the port side green button on both engines does not pop up. I tried reaching the blue drain plugs but this seems nearly impossible. It's odd that the same thing happens on both engines. Any suggestions? Thanks, Mike.
