"PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – To the relief of the winter-weary, the world's most famous groundhog is predicting an early spring.
Punxsutawney Phil emerged around dawn on Groundhog Day on Wednesday to make his 125th annual weather forecast in front of thousands who braved muddy, icy conditions to hear his handlers reveal that Pennsylvania's prophetic rodent had not seen his shadow.
Phil's handlers, the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club's Inner Circle, concoct the forecasts. Several thousand revelers gathered in the pre-dawn hours on a small hill called Gobbler's Knob to hear the prediction.
Before Wednesday, Phil had seen his shadow 98 times and hadn't seen it 15 times since 1887. There are no records for the remaining years, though the group has never failed to issue a forecast.
The tradition traces its origins to a German superstition."

You couldn't tell by what's happening now:smt021 I sure hope every one hangs in there and stays warm! Those Honda generators should have came in a week ago...lol

After watching the news this morning and seeing all that snow and ice, I think I'll stick with my Hurricanes and hot muggy weather. Heck, even mosquitos look better than that mess!

Good luck and stay warm!

Yea that is crazy. When I saw they closed schools in Chitown and Detroit I knew that was bad. We are gonna be in the 50's all week then 15 going to 0 tuesday. I don't know if we will survive that since we were out on the boat last saturday in shorts and t-shirts. Good luck everyone up there....

Early spring huh? I will believe that when I experience it. LOL. Somehow that "Early spring" will likely be linked with Global Warming or something like it. I can see the headlines now "Al Gore states that Punxatawney Phil not seeing his shadow proves beyond a reasonable doubt that warming is a fact" LMAO

Ya right! The next thing your gonna tell me is that the Easter Bunny isn't real either? :smt043

Didn't you get the memo?? He (AL) didn't mean "Global Warming" he meant "Climate Change":smt021:smt021 As if you really needed to spend money to figure that out:huh: All you have to do is watch the movie "Ice Age" and you can see first hand all about climate change....DUH:smt101:smt101

Good Groundhog! I should stop by and feed him a treat.....I'M READY FOR SOME WARM WEATHER!....Mike.

On another note, I just had a bus show up from south Fl and it had love bugs on the front of it already:wow:

Hard to think about spring time now. Negative 22 here in New Mexico today, but they say we should hit 32 as a high! Should feel great...

Let the house this morning for work - 27 degrees and icy patches all over from the melting snow yesterday. Look I don't mean to complain and I am usually very patient. But I bought the bigger boat so I could enjoy it. BUT RIGHT NOW ALL I CAN DO IS WATCH THE SNOW THAT WON'T MELT.
Outside of that I am having a nice day!!! Cold but nice :smt089
