Eagle Ray pins woman to deck of fishing charter

Wow, that's incredible she didn't get hurt. That happened a few years ago in Panama City when a boat load of tourists kept circling a ray near the surface in the pass. The ray came out of the water and landed in the boat. It was flapping trying to get back in the water and put everybody on the boat in the hospital. I heard the wingspan on that one was about 6 feet.

That's incredible!!! She is lucky, and what a great photo!! I never even knew these things jumped out of the water. Wow.....crazy man.

These rays jump all of the time. For some reason, they seem to jump a lot when my Father-in-Law is on the boat.

I was doing a wreck dive in Mexico last week and was within 5' to 15' of 25 of these. I have been diving for 40 years and have seen many of them. I never knew untill now they had "razor" sharp barbs at the end of the tail and it has venom. Learn something new all the time......thanks for the post
