The topic of E15 has been brought up several times over last few months.
MerCruiser has a bulletin (2010-16) that specifically states that E15 fuel is considered misuse of the engine and resulting damage will not be covered under warrantly. Merc's preference is to use ethanol-free gas wherever possible. Merc's engines are designed to use fuel containing up to 10% ethanol content. The bulletin further states that the EPA waiver allows E15 to be used in newer light trucks and cars. However, EPA regs do not allow E15 fuel to be used in Merc's engines.
