E-bay LED underwater lights - Any good?

That does sound a bit high for LED's but I guess they have to be pretty powerful to throw out enough light underwater.

The power for LED lighting is correct, each
LED is 1W which is pretty much the standard for performance lighting now. (10W is starting to be the push)

I don't know that brand of light and am not affiliated. We sell a lot of LED work lights into the Transport, Mining and Earthmoving business. Our main brand of light is OEM on Caterpillar equipment. I also manufacture an LED lamp for our road safety product.

Hence the knowledge base that my comment comes from.

Seeing as I am sitting in a hospital waiting for my wife to come out of theatre, so nothing better to do.........

Just refreshed my self on our website, most of the lamps we are currently supplying are using Cree 3W LEDs. And several using 10W

Also had a look on Livorsi Marines website as I recalled getting a newsletter from them this week with underwater LED,s, calculating their amperage figure shows roughly 4.2W per LED.

Light output of 1w LED will be very disappointing. 3w or better for underwater lights. You don't want to go through the trouble of buying and installing underwater lights and then be disappointed by a very 'dim' output of light into the water. Frankly, the coolest thing about the lights is seeing how others react to just how bright they are in the dark waters.

Agree with above, rechecking that eBay add, they show no brand, look very similar to a china manufacturer I approached for samples about 12 months ago but stopped answering emails when I said I was in the city and wanted to do factory visit.

I just looked on the boemarine website, and would suggest they have several underwater lamps on special, either cheaper, comparable or a little more, and a high quality high output that are a lot more, 6 pages to select from

You are then getting a quality brand, with warranty and importantly with backup
