Guys,
My boat was broken into this week. They removed my entire dash panels containing my chartplotters and gauges. They came by boat, not by land. They hit my boat and the searay next to me . When i went to the office I found out other boats were hit in previous weeks all by water. The one common item is the E 120.

Spoke to the local marine max electronics guy and he stated its an epidemic . All for E120's

So i dont know what could be done to protect urself but just beware.

All the best

Rob

Sorry to hear that. Nobody got a look at the boat? No cameras at the marinas? Your pretty close to my boat not to happy to know that's going on esp locally

That's bad news! I hope they catch them and make an example out of them.

Looks like someone found found a market to buy all they can get.

Thieves suck, period.

Stake out the boat and use 12 gage to ventilate the crooks. With the holes in them they sink and make great fish food. LOL

Sorry to hear about that. Down here they just take a sawzaw and take the entire outboard motor.

Good god, sorry to hear about the theft... sawzaws, b&e, boats as get away vehicles.... the world is getting crazier...

I i removed mine for the winter months and bring it home, all they have to do is cut the shrinkwrap and walk on board, then the shrinkwrap actually shields them as they work. Unfortunately now you have an insurance claim .

They may show up on E-Bay. Bastards!!!!

Hauled the boat today , then removed anything a theif would want, on my boat theres no hatch to cover the stairs to the bridge, so you just walk up and take what you want. This is my dash.

Adjuster came down today ! Nothing in the cabin is covered as there was no forced entry ! ( just gets better and better)

Rob, I'm assuming they covered the plotter? Only because our cockpits are only protected by canvas with zippers. I always wondered why this doesnt happen more often? My dockmate tells me he leaves the cabin door unlocked on his sedan bridge over the winter so thieves can simply walk in take whatever and not damage the sliding glass door. Sorry for your losses

that makes no sense
fight it............

Wow! Unbelievable... Who is your carrier? I think we all need to check our insurance. Makes no sense..such a scam....

Travelers is the insurance company. All " INSTALLED " items are covered. ( electronics ) They want to see a broken door or lock to cover anything else.

Its not done yet still doing paperwork. Guys ,keep all ur reciepts and manuals together. Makes life easier incase of loss. I never thought it would happen.

Sorry to hear about the troubles, Rob. But, IMO their requirement makes sense. I keep everything locked whatever I can lock. My simple theory is that hopefully the thief will look for unlocked door and leave mine alone. FWIT, this is the least I can do to stop them. After seeing reports like this I'm thinking about better ways for protecting my goods. Perhaps an alarm and/or surveillance equipment.
