Ok, I did a quick search and did not come up with anything on one receiver vs the other. The only real difference that I can come up between the two is the Dual runs through Bluetooth and the Bad Elf plugs into the 30 pin connector port. I have a first gen 64 gig iPad and would like to add a receiver to use mostly in the car but as a back up to my garmin 530s.

My questions are these:

1. Who is using which one?

2. What has been your experience with the one you are using?

3. What differences if any between the two?

4. With the Dual, can you attach multiple devices at once to it, ie, on a plane or in the car if the kids want to follow along on their iPods and iPhones?

Right now I am leaning towards the Bad Elf, because then I can just attach it and go. I do not have to worry about charging it.

Thanks

John

I have the Dual. Never used the Bad Elf. The dual bonds quick over bluetooth finds a fix as quick as my old serial Bluetooth gps. You can only have one Bluetooth connection to it at a time as I tried to bond my iPad and iPhone and the first one to bond wins and the second would not connect.

Not sure about any sensitivity differences. I get about 12 satellites on the Dual. The one thing I like about the Bluetooth is that I can position it away from the iPad for better exposure. I was worried that I would hit the bad elf and break it. Charging is not bad on the dual it has a simple mini USB plug which I have several chargers for from old tech.
