1999 400 DB second year owning... Nice boat but two things driving me crazy. 1: trying to hang a picture on those nice soft vinyl walls. I have tried every two sided tape on the market (About 30 different ones from the most expensive 3M to the cheapest Dollar Store specials...). Is there anything that will stick to that stuff??? I don't want to start putting screws in it. 2: The Waste Level Indicator on the electrical panel in the main salon is not working (pc board burned out) and so neither of the head panels work either. Where can I get a replacement board or a substitute board so that I don't have to replace the tank switches and head monitor boards? I tried talking to Marine Max (hahaha) they are quite arrogant and dismissive of some fool trying to get parts for a twelve year old Sea Ray and of course, Sea Ray will only say "go to Marine Max (Florida)..." As much as I like the boat, it is distasteful dealing with Sea Ray and Marine Max... they are not part of the solution, they are the problem...

Welcome Ron

Can't help you on the picture. I did rebuild my systen with a new sending unit and monitor. It cost me about $200.

MM does not deal well with the older (classic) boats. They feel you should buy a new one.

As far as Sea ray, they have ALWAYS treated me right, but then again I call the Knoxville plant.

Thanks AKBASSKING - I don't mind the cost but getting at the level switches in the holding tank will be nasty along with retrofitting Head monitor units so I was hoping for a band-aid fix just so the wife will know when not to flush...

It is a nasty job. You could always place a 5 gallon "honey" bucket next to the head........

Did you clean the spot with alcohol first ??.

I have this hanging on my wall with Velcro strips. :smt001

Thanks Wayne's World - yes, tried cleaning with soap and water, IPA (alcohol) and various other cleaners. The frames hang for about an hour then fall off.

Ok , Is it a wood pic frame maybe its to heavy ??

Mine is a cheap pic frame from the dollar store. . :smt001

I can somewhat relate. When I purchased my '95 175, it was more of a restoration as it had been severely neglected. I wanted/needed all kinds of replacement parts. It was a painful experience finding them. Especially since I live far away from a Sea Ray dealer, I have no "local" dealer.

But I eventually found a great lady (Mary, I think) who works for the Prince William Marina in Virginia. She was a great help, and even recently helped me find a replacement cockpit faucet for my new 280DA.

They can ship, so maybe check them out!

Tom

The writing is on the wall-Don't hang the picture!
I believe someone taped a picture to the wall on our current boat as you can see indents in the padded wall. They may have got it to work and the marks never came out. Screws would be the most secure but permanent mount.

How about rebuild of your burned board? all that is needed is your board and schematic
simple but not easy.. Hmmmm Mabe it is easy but not simple??
Well never the less there are many board builders that can do the job
