Hey all!

Had a flatscreen in the salon (on wall to your right when going down the stairs) that was not properly mounted, from the factory or PO.
The tv was starting to fall, pulling the frame/ceiling with it.

It was originally only just screwed into the decorative frame- not nearly enough strength to hold it.

I want to screw the tv into the fiberglass. Better idea to support it?
Anyone know what type of screws to use? What would anchor into the fiberglass?

Or if I decide to bolt it in (the wall it is mounted on is opposite to the compartment under the helm), what kind of drill bits would go thru the fiberglass well?

I have never really screwed/drilled fiberglass in the past.

Thanks for the help.
I really don't want this thing to fall and hurt someone!

If you can access the back side of the fiberglass, drill holes with a standard drill bit and bolt the bracket with stainless steel screws. make sure you install a backing plate to distribute the load! Flat stock aluminum or some fairly heavy plastic or starboard should do it.

Run your drill bit backwards to get started. That will keep the cracking and "grabbing" to a minimum. Toggle bolts from the hardware store might work well if you can not access the area behind.
