Drain Plug Mount Silicone

I would like to remove and re-seal the mounting flange plate for the boat drain plug on my transom.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good underwater silicone or other sealant I should use between the boat and the mounting flange?

I would prefer something that doesn't take too long to cure.

I just resealed mine with Multi Caulk Sealant quick cure polyether from West Marine. Alot of people here will sugest 3m 4200 and 5200.

I have some 5200 but I thought that was more of a permanent adhesive instead of a sealant??

Use 3m 4200.....it is for under water application and is not permanent. (5200 is considered permanent).

Life Seal (my personal choice) or 4200. Both will do the job well. I'm not familiar with the Multi Caulk.
