Doomsday Preppers, anyone here watch?
We have any "preppers" here?
I have watched a number of episodes, and I am of the feeling that some of these folks, while having good intentions are not actually what I would call an actual prepper? If you seen a few of the episodes recently, example the guy building his own body armor and testing it , prepping for wife's C-section in a barn where he has put plastic sheeting down or the beehive mover who welds spikes on his trailer, which speaking of the trailer looks like a piece of junk. He even has a home made spike strip attached to it which he release's . I am sure there are other episodes as outrageous.
I am sure many often hear about the police raiding a house and a few guns are within the home, (often they do not mention the type) and maybe found a thousand rounds of ammunition. My take on this is that it is media propaganda yellow journalism sensationalism. So what is your take on this? I have guns which I have had for thirty years which have never been fired setting in the safe, then I have some I fire quite often, so my having 10,000 rounds is not excessive, considering the price of ammunition, and the number of different calibers versus the savings with buying by bulk in 1,000 round lots. Depending on the caliber possibly savings of $0.35 - $0.40 per round.
A thousand rounds is not really much considering especially with hand guns one can go to the range and easily shoot up 100 rounds with an hour.
1. So my question is this do some folks actually believe this prepping?
Another question relates to ammunition and guns.
2. Is it just typically media spin when guns and ammunition are often mentioned in a "NEWS" story. I am not referring to gang raids or drug house raids, just a basic home type arrest for some violation.
3. So what is your take on these items?
Remember it is winter and this is not a post to create any animosities, just for curiosity sake.
Thanks and "Happy Holidays."
