Don't use cement blocks

Exactly.

ALL of the hull weight is to be on the keel blocking, fore and aft (three stacks on larger vessels, but that's harder to set up than two-point bearing).

The stands are set so that the pads are snug- but not bearing significant weight. Doing otherwise can deform or damage the hull.

Yes... I should've mentioned that. The 'jacks' are only snugged up to the hull. They're not holding any significant weight to speak of. The 4 wooden blocks are carrying almost all the weight. Placing the jacks on a strake is better than on a flat portion of the hull but I wouldn't put much pressure there either. If I had a bigger boat I would have another keel block in there midways somewhere (the strap location would be a good spot).

ehaze... what does HOA stand for?
I'm in a small community / cul de sac with my house being 3 blocks from the municipal office / police department / firehall. They're fully aware of what's in my driveway. We have no specific bylaw that addresses RV/boat storage but there is one regarding 'eye sores' or something like that... it's kind of vague. Mr. Bylaw enforcement has come by to ask how long it'll be sitting in my driveway. I said until the end of April maybe but I want it back in the water asap... and he said, "Nice boat". I told him what I'm doing (showed him my list of things to do) and he was interested but in a good way. Seemed like an ok guy (luckily) :)

I don't have a HOA -> but I have a township zoning board. Apparently, the maximum boat you can have on your property is function of the neighborhood. Being in a waterfront area, boats and jetskis are common things to see in the neighborhood.

Fortunately, my boat was within the limits. My boat is basically a big obstruction sitting in the driveway. My neighbor put a 38' go-fast boat in his driveway. It was neatly tucked up alongside his shrubs, and was much less an eyesore than my boat. BUT his boat was considerably larger than the zoning limit, and he got several fines.

His boat was at the yard this winter.

I wonder if it's cheaper to pay the fines than pay $32/ft for winter storage!

You'd think that a home-owner / tax-payer would be given the courtesy of a warning and a bit of time to comply before the ticket book came out...

The Anchorage Marina in lindenhurst had alot boats on there side. Mostly ones blocked on grass areas but some were on pavement.... Ill post some pics . I think thats were the first pic was taken in this thread.

I'm in many yards and marinas and its a shame how many still use blocks, and I've seen even worse. We use 6x6's for the keel support and boat stands for stabilization.
