We have a soft spot for dolphins as they often swim and jump in our boat wake. They are so great to see doing this in the wild, so thought I would share this which a friend sent to us:

Now THIS is TRUST !

On a night-time dive near Hawaii, two divers were found by a bottle-nose dolphin and it started to swim around them over and over again. When looking closer, one of them discovered the reason for this strange behaviour - the dolphin had a fishing line hooked around it, hindering its ability to swim. They cut him free, and the dolphin swam away. The fact that a dolphin would come to humans for help maybe evidence of its' intelligence, as most injured animals would never come close to a human. This is amazing to watch and a life-time experience for those two divers.

They are amazing animals. When we fished for 3 days in Costa Rica, we would follow and enter pods of Spinner Dolphins while they were balling up sardines. Of course the Sailfish, Tuna, etc. were right in there with the Spinners feeding. (we caught a 40 lb yellowfin in the pod - sashimi right on the boat)
Anyway, the amazing thing when we were trolling live bait and teasers, the Spinners were in and out of our trolling lane and not one touched anything we were trolling. How they knew had me baffled. I have some great GoPro Video.

Thanks for posting, that's an incredible video how they know who to trust is amazing. One of the perks of boating is the wildlife we've all encountered over the years sometimes it's only a glimpse other time's longer, we've had Humpback whale's spend over 1/2 hour just hanging around circling us. It really gets the adrenalin going when your in a pod Orcas or Grays.

Sometimes I think I like animals more than most humans.
