Doesn't this just SUCK

Jason,
I'm sore, I'm grumpy but I'm alive. It could have been a lot worse. We were on a two lane highway in the right hand lane. We're blessed that we didn't get whalloped by more than just this kid...

So sorry to read of your accident Karen that really does suck. I do hope this kid had good insurance (so many don't have in FL.) Our daughter was sat at a red light the other year and some guy just ran into her, ruined her car (little to no insurance, of course) and we don't have any bad weather to blame! Take care and keep thinking about going boating soon:)

Brenda

Thanks Brit :)
Same thing happened to my daughter! She was sitting at a light and a woman came flying out of a parking lot and T-boned her!! IN MY CAR! (yep, same one, same side).
The kid that hit me was driving a newer Ford Escape and NJ is really tough with their insurance laws (doesn't change the fact that there are people out there without it though).

Gotta change my signature to 10 weeks lol

Way to be positive... I started a countdown clock in my signature...

VVVVV

Glad your ok ! The car is repairable but it will be more than $3500 ! It needs a new door shell and a left quarter panel ( not cheap ) ! The OTHER insurance company will pay for the damage in FULL and for a rent a car for you while its being fixed . Probably going to be in the shop for at least a couple of weeks if not longer !

Thanks Knowbody
My policy covers a $30 a day rental. Whatever mine doesn't pay, I'll submit to his insurance. What a PITA!!!!!

From what the autobody shop can tell he said that he has to remove the rear window and rear passenger window?? I don't know...I haven't seen it since the accident. My driver side mirror was hanging off too, so Lord knows where the damage ends.
I only took a few quick pics cause it was raining and my back was starting to hurt. Like I said, the pics don't do the damage any justice...it looks a lot worse in person :smt089
I'm contemplating suing for pain and suffering. I've had a headache since Saturday (could be a cold though....ugh)

Hang in there Karen, hope you feel better soon:)

Brenda

I own an autobody shop ( for the last 25 years ! ) . If I can be of any help with any questions , don't hesitate to ask !

Thanks Brenda!

Knowbody...
The initial estimate came in at over 5k. :smt119 (the insurance company sent out their own appraiser to my bodyshop). The email said it was a visual inspection. I'm so pissed off that I have to drive this POS Jeep lol

Don't worry if those guys at the body shop know what they're doing , that car will look like brand new when its done ! The insurance company will usually offer you a settlement ( for your pain and suffering ) , just make sure the doctors say you will be ok . Otherwise don't sign or accept anything ! KBYK .:smt009

The shop I took it to restores my father in law's antique cars so I'm kind of confident that he knows what he's doing. I wasn't happy with the last body shop, the actually dented my car and denied it. Hard to prove and it was minor so I dropped it.
I guess I need a lawyer? :(

I guess the Mazda 6 is a cheaper car! Are they doing all new parts?...Mike.
