Hi all,
I am looking to connect an AP ev-150, an axiom 9 and a fusion radio to this backbone.
Does this look ok?

Thank you?

I'm not an expert but that looks like a start. You need your spur cables to each component. How far apart is everything? I would just question the need for such a long backbone if everything is at the helm. I looks like you may be planning to run the backbone from the entertainment cab in the salon where the Fusion resides to the helm? There is just enough information to be had from the pic to say it might work.

That should work if everything can be located close together. But the EV unit may needed to be located away from the helm forward in the boat. That would require a slightly different configuration. In that case I think you might be missing a couple pieces. The missing bits are a short backbone (blue) cable and a tee.

You need two spur ports for the Fusion and Axiom. Then you need three spur ports for the AP. One for the controller, one for the computer, and one for the white flying saucer EV unit. The thing is the flying saucer unit needs to be located forward on the centerline of the boat. (Ours is located under the master berth in the bow.)

So it would lay out: A backbone block, short backbone cable, B backbone block, long backbone cable, tee. The blocks are located close together with the tee somewhere forward where the EV is located.

A backbone block
Resistor
Spur to axiom
Spur to fusion
Power line
Backbone cable to block B (short)

B backbone block
Backbone cable from A block
Spur to R70 control head
Spur to computer
Plug (open for new device). Useful if you need to add external gps because axion internal sucks.
Long backbone cable to tee

Tee
Long backbone cable from B block
Spur to EV-1 flying saucer
Resistor in tee backbone socket

The two blocks are up in the helm area

Thanks guys,

I was looking at keeping everything at the helm or close to it.
The long backbone cable came with the ev-150.
I have noticed the same thing about the internal gps on the axiom, not reliable!

As for the EV sensor, it will have to do at the helm or at dc panel or maybe under the captain seat.

Make her part of the family. Just have a captain at hand to perform the ceremony and live happily ever after.
