Arguments I have read sound like as follows:

a) Use Muffs to bring in af. It's easy to miss a plug, and if you do, you won't fully drain the block and will end up with a cracked block.
b) Drain block and backfill through thermostat housing. It's what Merc recommends, and the muff method just dilutes antifreeze.

I have read a number of things that make me question the effectiveness of both methods. So why not do both?

Suck up antifreeze through the muffs as you fog the engine (with a few ounces of ob oil in the seperator). Once done, drain at the plugs as Merc says, and backfill with af.

It costs an extra $20, and it ensures you will be full of undiluted antifreeze.

Am I missing anything?

Sorry if this starts off a war. I am just trying to figure out the best way to get this done.

I just can't decide what I'm comfortable doing, so I have decided that the best way to get this done is to have the marina do it!!:smt038 Good luck to you!
