The little magnet in the edge of the door that activates the hatch lift when the door is open worked it's way loose last year. One day, one of my guests closed the door as I pulled away from the dock and the magnet was sticking out a little bit. It caught the edge of the jamb as he did and and broke a small piece off of the edge of the door. To add insult to injury, the magnet fell out and rolled off the swim platform into the drink.
Fortunately, the piece that broke off of the door fits perfect with the rest of the door. If I can figure out which adhesive works on whatever material that door is made out of, it will be an easy repair that should be invisible. The obvious thing to try would be epoxy but this is a shiny material and my experience with epoxy on shiny things hasn't been all that great.
The magnet appears to be a simple window reed switch magnet. I ordered one from Amazon. It fits the hole perfectly and looks like its been there forever.
Any info on the door material (or proper adhesive) would be greatly appreciated.
