My marina is in and out of fuel so I bought a 29 gallon fuel caddy. My problem is the caddy is gravity feed and my boat higher than the walk way at my slip. Has anyone come up with an electric fuel pump that I can modify? 12volts is readily available on my boat and the old hand crank pumps wont hlep becasue they leak when I lay the caddy down.

Thanks,
Nick

Becareful with GASOLINE and ELECTRICITY. Electricity produces the spark and gasoline produces the very explosive fumes.

You didn't like your response? I guess you are not an idiot.
All BS aside. I own the same caddy I use for my Ski Nautique. I could never devise an electric pump so I built a platform to pull the caddy up on so it could still gravity feed.
I don't know how high you need to go but an idea.

I've read a number of posts from guys that use an automotive fuel pump for fuel transfer. Might take a little while, but it'll get the job done safely. I'd check the local auto parts store for a high volume, low pressure pump. Rig it up with a long enough wire and some alligator clips for your battery.

They do make a manual crank pump for the gas caddy- but it's very expensive.

My marina prohibits "carry-on" gasoline. You might want to check what your policy is.
