I am not sure of which connection in the transom locker to use to bring dock water to the boat I have a 2005 Searay 270 AJ

Thanks Rich

My suggestion is don't do it unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. We thought it was a good option until a pipe burst (actually poor plumbing reconnection by a "mechanic"). Luckily we weren't on dock water and only pumped ~ 30 gallons before the frech water tank emptied. Had it been connected, probably would've sank as it happened while sleeping.

Just my opinion...

Rich, You should be fine with the dockside water connection, but it IS in your best interest to SHUT OFF the water when you are not there (as stated above)! Your dockside inlet is the female garden hose fitting on/in your transom (maybe in the storage trunk). I use a quick-connect fitting on mine and my fresh water hose to make connection/disconnection easier. Always check for leaks (the dockside fitting also acts as a pressure regulator if your dock fresh water pressure is high). The dockside water is designed for use when you have high demand water use (showering/washing dishes/etc...) - Jeff

+1

Another school of thought is using water from the tank only keeps the tank flushed.

If I have guests for the weekend, I'll use the dockside water. Other than that, just the tank.
