Hey gang, many of us have been boating since we were kids. Some not so young. How about posting a picture of the boat that you first stepped foot on. If you don't have the original like I do then find a look a like and post it along with your age you boarded it.

I think Bill and Pat are the oldest/newest boaters on the sight. Am I wrong? Let's see who the oldest/oldest boater is.

The boat is the big ugly one the subs are tied to. I was 5 years old and thought it was the Queen Mary. Dad was an electrician and petty officer on her for 12 years.

I'm not sure cameras were around when I got my first rowboat at age 5 (circa 1591) on Lake Huron. It looked something like the white one on the right in this picture except it had a closed bow with storage underneath.

I got a used 7.5hp Evinrude two years later and put countless hundreds of hours on the motor. That was my pride and joy and if I was awake I was in the boat.

My father built it in the basement, I think in '52. It was 12' and we had a 7.5 Scott atwater. I can remember like yesterday the first time he let me take the tiller...
Camping and fishing from that boat in the 1000 Islands area of New York is what I lived for as a kid. We had that boat until I was around 10 or 11.
That's my mother, my big sis and the dog can be seen in the car, I assume I am too, I was 2 years old at the time....1957, at the entrance of Cedar Point State Park on the St. Lawrence river, near Clayton NY

1958... Our first family boat... Got my first boating license when I was 13 and use to take this boat out by myself or with friends. Dad and I changed out the old gray marine 65hp engine for a 100hp one and we would make our own sister frames by steaming oak over an open fire and then quickly bolting them into place. My job each winter/spring was to re-caulk the underhull with cotton and red lead. In the spring we would fill the boat up with water to swell the hull.

I started boating on one of these, circa 1976

What size was that Owens? My Dad bought a 24 footer in 1968. That is the first boat I remember but my first steps were on an old 50's model 17' Dorset Cuddy Cabin

The first boat i was on was a 1973 Searay 22 SRV of my grandpas when i was about 2, after that my parents bought a 78 22 overnighter with the double windows and special order softtop option, had that from the time i was about 3 till about 10 when they sold it to try camping, from that point on i was totally hooked on boating and searays, I actually still have the 73 it was left to my uncle when my grandpa pasted and because of lack of use was givin to me and then to my mom (her fathers boat) when i bought my 270, it still looks awsome and runs even better. Below you will see the 22 SRV and a actual pic of my parents old boat i ran into it while at the boat launch in the begining of the year. Was really cool to see that actual boat i grew up on again, now if i could just find the 270 seadancer that my uncle had (that started my obsesion with the 270 line) that would be awsome

Way Cool Cherokeeguy!! What was with the 70's and yellow? My wife thinks that if it's yellow it is good luck. It has been for us anyhow...

1995 sea ray bowrider 175 i think On Brant lake New York 1998, Buddy at work gave me the keys to his cabin, boat, jet ski for fathers day weekends every year that started my love of boats especially Sea Rays!!! the second boat was the first one we owned 1998 250 sundancer. loved the boat but found out real fast how they shrink when they get wet, with kids they all want friends to come along, so along came the 320 we have now and it's still too small.
