Do they make a plug for floor table mount on 240SD?

We almost never use the two removable tables on our 240...and the metal hole mounts on the deck get really nasty with water and junk collecting in them...do they make some sort of plastic plug to simply stick into them and cover the hole up?

I think if I had been in on the design of these, I would have put a drain hole in as well.

Thanks

David

Excellent..thank you...I guess I need to confirm the dimensions to make sure, unless this is exactly the right fit for the 240SD- assume that they are consistent for all Sea Rays?

When I look up the actual base the plug you linked fits into, the base hole looks different that the one on my boat though...

I took a drill and a 1/4" bit and just drilled a hole in both of mine. Problem solved. The aft base is over the fuel tank though, so be careful not to drill too deep… there is about 2 inches of clearance. To be save you can just take the screws out and drill it off the boat.

i made a different kind of table for our boat that does not need the leg base....so i removed the base and covered the hole in the deck with one of these....it is a stainless steel gas cap cover for trucks....i used strong double sided exterior mounting tape to hold it on the deck instead of drilling new holes.....it is very thin so no tripping hazard and no toe stumping hazard....and it is strong enough to support body weight if you step on it....

I had given this a thought as an option, but was not sure were it would drain to, very glad you mentioned the fuel tank!!!Assume no issues letting water go through them and below?

I am curious why Sea Ray did not have a hole in them in the first place for drainage, only thing I can figure is that this mount for the table is not specifically manufactured for boats?

I have a SD, and I am not drilling any new holes in my boat, certainly not where water will drain into an area not getting wet now. IMHO.

If you are letting water drip on top of your gas tank you'll want to make sure you tank compartment has plenty of room to drain otherwise you'll be setting your tank up for a good chance to corrode.

Big Island Lifer, good point for some boats I guess. On my 240, the gas tank is plastic, so no water problems, especially since it sits in the bilge with water from the ski locker anyway. if you lift the engine hatch, you can stick you hand between the tank and the floor and feel for obstructions, and see how much clearance there is. As I mentioned, you can always pull the few screws and drill it off the boat.

These mounts are, indeed, made for the use on boats. But, I have yet to see a plug made specifically for these mounts. That's not to say that one does not exist, I just haven't personally come across it yet. However, I see absolutely no problems with drilling a hole in the mount - both the aft mount and the forward mount. All that's going to happen is that they will drain into areas that are already designed for drainage to the bilge. I believe these mounts are aluminum, but if they're steel you'll want to paint the edges (check with a magnet).

I have made them out of Aluminum and black Delrin turned to the ID of the deck plate mount then inset o-rings in grooves to seal sea water out of the aluminum base. The diameter is large enough to put a 1-5/8" Perko ring pull in a recess turned into the top.

I put a Spalding pinky ball in it, but it can be a tripping hazard. Not sure if non city folk will know what this is.... Stoop ball, stick ball, handball, punch ball, hit the penny, etc... Man were those great times!

I found the table support holes an odd dimension. I got a piece of PVC (I think ~1.75" dia) pipe and a PVC cap which I cemented to the pipe. The pipe was made to just come flush with the deck. I needed this because my little dog kept stepping in the hole. I drilled a hole in the cap just large enough for my finger so it was easily removed. I was not worried about water in the hole.

Yup, they were!
