When the hull was last painted, whoever did it painted right over the Dynaplate (which has big raised letters on it saying "DO NOT PAINT".

Anyone know if I can I simply take off and sandblast, or do I need to replace? It's only a couple of hundred bucks, but if it only needs a sandblast, why throw away money.

Also, the plate can act as a secondary sacrificial (bronze I think). It has not deteriorated in any noticeable way.

Sandblast it. I had a couple of rocket scientists do the same to my Chris Craft. With a steel hull, the anodes are VERY important. I sanded off the flat ones and sand blasted the shaped ones. Reading on the CAPAC was perfect when I got done. No worries.

Thanks Redhook. That's what I'll do then.
