I just had my boat hauled and the bottom sand blasted for bottom painting. The Service Manager said my bottom was really fouled with "hair" growing out of it. I noticed a 6 mph and 500 rpm WOT reduction since I put the boat back in after my repairs in July. Do you Lake Michigan boaters experience this level of bottom fouling like I did this year on the Des Plaines River? I should also mention my bottom paint was on it's 5th season would could have been a contibutor. Also how frequently do you guys on the big pond bottom paint?

Agree. Paint every 3-4 years and no grass at haul out.

Same as above.
No grass in Hammond unless you don't move for a month or two as I have seen some do.
But as Scott said, easily removed on the sides, trim tabs and running gear with a little brushing at Boater's Beach.

Scott.....
Bring your scrub brushes tomorrow seeing as you don't have a boat to work on, you can work on mine!!!! :)
I'll feed you guys later!

Dan

I'd make a bet its above 65 at boaters beach :)

it depends on what Port your in, we were in Ludington which is in the pier marquette river and wow, we had a bronw bottom when we took her out.... not good since we were'nt bottom painted.. But it all came off with a product called Slimy Grimy.. it's Great.
