DIY pump out at home? Best way to empty holding tank into sewer?

Z maybe I missed it. Cant tell if you trailer or slip. As Kevin said, every marina I been in(a lot) fueling from cans would get you evicted very quickly.

IF your boat has a holding tank you WANT #2 in there. Do your research, it's how a holding tank works.
I love when people say “nobody shits in my head”. They be the first after a night of beer and hard boiled eggs to get the trots next morning and have an ass explosion. Sooner or later, somebody is going to shit on your boat. Deal with it.

Come on man, don't be that guy. That is not a sewer grate. It is a storm water grate.

Do the right thing and pump out like you should.

Tim

One more note here. Fueling from those 5 gallon fuel tanks may also be illegal or in violation of your dock agreement. If allowed take plenty of care because it is dangerous. If fueling from a non grounded source you can build up a static discharge... Which is real bad during fueling.

I appreciate your concern, I live on the lake so unless the missus has an issue with it, I won't be in violation of any dock rules. Did a search trying to back up your claim about static electricity, it's pretty humid in my area I can't imagine that's a thing, but again I do appreciate your opinion. Also wouldn't the boat itself be a ground if I'm standing on it?

I do have a question. Does sink water go into the holding tank or into the water?

At least on my '92 DA, the sinks go straight overboard, while the shower goes into the bilge, then overboard. The only thing that goes to a tank is the blackwater.

A small boat like this doesn't have a typical "holding tank". You have a port potti with a pump-out option. If you look at the back side of the potty you will only see two hose - a large one that goes to the deck fitting and a smaller one that goes to the thru-hull vent.

Good my better half just wants the sink working. I'll probably remove the head and use it for storage. If the sink water doesn't go to the holding tank I'm thrilled. I just assumed all grey and black water went to the holding tank

You should have this porta potti…. Disconnect the two hoses Dennis pointed out tuck them away and buy a new potti … no one wants a 15 year old $80 potti. Take the bottom and dump it in the toilet. This isn’t hard

So you went from pumping to a sewer to using the head for storage? Yikes :rolleyes:

I was really only concerned with sink water. I used to race motorcycles and in the 5th wheel all waste went to a grey or black holding tank. I incorrectly assumed the same on a boat

This is exactly what’s on my Weekender, works fine, easy to empty.

Hey Pirate, I have the smaller version of that head, if I get the bigger one will it use the same hold down brackets?
I think the holes in the floor are the same dimension, but the brackets are physically taller, as the upper tank clamps onto them.

They are shipped with the appropriately sized brackets anyway.

Thanks, I’m thinking of upgrading this season.
