Old thread, i didnt go back to read the old posts, but nobody has mentioned an epirb that auto activates when it hits water. #1 safety equipment for offshore sailors.

I hear they sensitive and water spray will set them off. From what i have read on Cruising World and Sailing (hey dont judge me i like to read about offshore blue water sailors) they keep them in cabin near the cabin way. Out of spray but close enough to flip switch if going down.
