Have a 2008 310 sundancer with twin 350 mercs they hold 100 gallons each. Wanting to go to Grand Bahamas from Daytona. Anyone know about mpg on this?

I can tell you its 199 miles from Daytona to West Palm Beach and 66 (or so) statute miles from West Palm Beach to the tip of Grand Bahama Island.

JediJD,

Have you ever made the run to the Bahamas? How did you your boat handle things on the way over? What is the smallest size that you think would be safe to make that run? Just curious. I have a friend who is thinking of trailoring down there and making that run in a 26' Wellcraft. It would also be something I would like to consider when we get a larger boat. Thanks.

Runamuck,
It is all going to depend on yours/friends skills and the weather. People make the 50 miles run from Miami to Bimini in jet boats and jet skies. Just saw a neat yoUtube video about a jet boat/ski group that made the run a couple months ago.

hpatton,
You want to be talking about GPH not MPG.

Hope it helps. May want to do a quick search there is some good threads on the topic.

Yes, this topic has been covered A LOT. Your boat can make the trip with no problem -- 200 gallons will give you plenty of range and the size of your boat will be just fine. I have never made the trip but I've read all of the threads and the consensus seems to be that you will be fine if the seas are 3' or less. Larger than 3' might be uncomfortable but doable.

Do a search for 'bimini' or 'bahamas' and you will find a lot of info.
