I have a 280 sundancer and was wondering if anyone has any experience with using a dingy with a 280. Things such as what kind, where to store and how to lauch?

I have a West Marine hard bottom dingy and have pretty good results w/the Weaver davits.

a lot of threads/posts on this topic here - try a search - I use the weavers on my 300 and love em - others like the hurley/nautley systems (great if you leave the motor on). When I had my 280 I used to put my 8'6" wood floor zodiac upside down on the bow (as far forward as possible) and the 4hp in the cockpit

I had a 8' row boat that I laid across the transom...until it got stolen. I had used a bike lock to lock it to the aft cleat. Thieves cut the dingy with a saw and walked off with the dingy. I'm very gun shy about getting another. Wife and I have interest in trying some kayaking. So we picked up a Sea Eagle inflatable during the Christmas sales. This will be something that we can deflate and throw in the cabin when we are going to be away from the marina.

If you can stand to wait another season, www.defender.com will run a christmas special too. I could have landed a 8.6' Zodiac wood bottom for $600. We had already committed to the Sea Eagle and the Sea Eagle will actually encourage exercise. None the less, my dream setup would be the inflatable with a set of Weavers.
