Hey I noticed that my b3 props have a few bad spots on the edges. Got into some sand backing off the beach. These are ss props. Question is, should I take them to a prop shop and have them cleaned up or not?:smt100

If your boat does not show signs of vibrations from the dings - then I would file the rough edges down and go from there. You need a special tool to get the back prop off if you plan on doing your self. Good luck.

Absolutely have the props fixed. Any imbalance is very hard on the lower unit (especially BIII's). You often won't notice the vibration.

If you notice any new vibrations then it might be worthwhile having them balanced. However if it's strictly scratches from the sand then I wouldn't worry about it. I have had the same thing happen to me a few times and the props were just fine.

Like Dave said, just scratches leave them alone. But if they are dinged enough to feel any vibration then find a reputable shop and have them tuned.

You know the correct answer already. The price to get them fixed is cheaper than the cost of repairing the damage they may be doing from the vibrations you can't feel
