Not sure what I'm looking at that has been pulled loose, but it appears that the tube has been split .

It can be repaired, thats what is nice about fabric boats, while they cut easily thet patch easily as well. My 7 year old Avon Rib is becoming a solid set of patches, but it floats and holds air.

Remove the blue patch on the exterior. Use a plastic putty scraper to get it started and then peel it off. Then then prepare to patch the split from the inside as well as the outside make the inside patch 2X the size of the split, If you have to open the gap further to get some working room do it, but abrade the interior/exterior surface that will be under the patch with a wire brush on a electic drill. Glue up the inside patch and the larger exterior patch. ( You can make this exterior patch decorative like add "D-Rings" Grab lines, rubber cleat etc.) then bend or roll up the inside patch and insert it into the split, unfurl it glue side facing the outside and get it set in place, then pull it back away from the inside surface so the glue can begin to dry from the opposing interior surfaces. Then apply glue the exterior patch and the substrate and let the glue begin to dry (read directions).

Place the exterior patch in place and then place heavy weight on the exterior patch ... tool boxes, C-clams and boards, what ever you got to get a couple of hundred pounds of pressure on the patches without cutting or crimping the surrounding fabric etc.. This weight clamp step can not be passed over. The goal is to put a lot of weight or pressure on these patches that are opposing each other from inside and out and let the glue dry ... two days would be plenty.

When the patches are dry, inflate the boat and pressure test the patch with soapy water.

There ya go ... easy peazy

Is out of the water and 2 day dry time a must? Cant it just be a temporary patch and do it the right way when I get home?

Where is a good place to find PVC patches? Is there any way to get the air valve off of the dinghy? Somehow I got some crap inside the dingy.

Thanks!
