Upgraded to 40DA last fall. Looking to purchase a davit system on the extended platform to secure a 310 Avon Rib with 15 Johnson (225 pounds). This is not a long-term boat; the electric solutions are above our 4-year ownership plan and budget. There are no medical concerns. We are not interested in Weaver or the Olsson ST275 products due to previous experience/ownership.

We love our h2o, weight loaded is about the same as yours and now that I have my system down (bow cleated off while I pull the stern up onto the davit)

should be within your budget even after adding some nice straps

I have the Hurley H30 with electric winch. 10 ft rib with yamah15 next best thing to hydraulic lift. Love it, easily removed when not transporting dingy.

$2k budget = blown w/H3O

The H2O seems very popular in this price range. If I had a lighter dinghy I’d prefer the simplicity of the H2O over the H3O. Dealing with the arm and winch can be a pain at times, especially if you use the dink a lot.

Question. Is it bad to tilt the engine up, pull bow of zodiac onto the platform, tie tight and go on plane?

I’ve seen people do that but it swamps the dinghy coming off plane when the stern wave comes up. Better to tow on plane with a tow line and the dinghy far back

I’m H20 and it’s perfect for our needs….. resell seems really good if you go hydraulic down the road
