Thinking about changing my Analog gauges out for Digital. Does anyone have experience with this and where did you get them.
Thanks....

Another option is Fox Marine Gateways displaying on an MFD or dedicated display unit. Our early FI engines can't provide all data though.

I have tried both LED and LCD volt meter gauges that were compatable with the Sea Ray gauge package. I found both to be less than satisfactory...the LED digits tend to wash out and are unreadable in direct sunlight....the LCD digits burn in and become illiegble after a few months in the sun.

However, my boat is in Florida and the effects of the sun there are probably more brutal that yours in Va. I'd just urge some caution in spending a lot of money here without exploring the effects of the sun on your ability to see the gauges.

It's your boat and certainly do with it as you wish, but to offer another "consideration"... analog gauges are easier to read while underway. Typically, we only need a quick glance to see that the needles are all in the right positions. With digital, you have to actually "read" each gauge - which not only takes more time, but can be tough to do so if the boat (or you) is bouncing around or there is glare on the gauge.

Here is a thread I have over at THT:

Also I have the same here: http://clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/system-monitor-to-replace-idiot-lights.79415/

These are disusing doing exactly what you are asking about.
Very brief intro, I have a 1988 460 with Detroit diesels that were all analog and I converted them to have all the latest digital NMEA 2000 gauges.

Good luck with your decision
