Differance between DA / SS

Big time.

The DA is a SunDancer -> A big ole cabin cruiser with standing headroom and a mid-cabin space below the steps into the cabin.

The SS is a "SuperSport" -> A big ole cuddy cabin that is about 1'-2' less tall, 2000 lbs lighter, and generally featuring significantly bigger engines. No mid cabin.

The 290SS cuddy cabin will sort of sleep two intimate adults in the cabin with no kids. While the 290DA can take out a family of four in reasonable comfort for an overnight trip, the 290SS is a boat where you would take a group of eight out for the day on the bay, and will generally run rings around the 290DA :)

These are VERY different boats, intended for different types of use.

Check out the SeaRay website. The differences are obvious from the pics. And yes. . .the SS *should* be much cheaper than the DA, despite having *generally* larger engines.
