Diesel Repower ?

Sorry no Yanmars ? These engines only weigh 1200 max , ...........

Have Yanmars come out with the digital direct injection diesel yet ?
Do they still have timing belts ?
Do you still have to have the valves adjusted during service intervals ?

I have had some friends that have had bad experience with yanmars ......

For every one bad experience, I can show you 10 good. It seems the people who have an experience they determine as negative harp on it and make everyone else agree. The positive people just soldier on.

In a 330DA if you don't use Yanmars you are going to have a very hard and expensive time repowering.

I have seen some Yanmar's in boats I didn't particularly like but my dislike had nothing to do with service or maintenance needs. I own 3 Yanmars in non-marine applications and, say what you want, if you give them the same care you do other diesels, the dang things are bullet proof. In fact, there are a lot of design features on my Yanmars that I prefer to the Cummins engines I have.
