Diesel Prices Near Staten Island?

Hey DC,

Congrats on the new addition to the family. Check out https://activecaptain.com/ I'm REAL new to it but it might have all you need and it integrates with all kinds of stuff.

For the best fuel prices your best bet is Atlantic highlands NJ. Great kills harbor has fuel and well and Marine Basin Marine in Brooklyn NY also has diesel and both should be on your way.

If you're going to pass SI and head closer to the city, Liberty Landing Marina would be good choice as well. Easy in and out while paying NJ price for diesel. AC is great resource, take your time to know it well.

If you can, avoid fueling up in NY state. Even on your way back (if you go via NYC and the Sound), fuel is cheaper (less taxes) in any state besides NY.

Also, depending on the exact travel days, in the very early spring be sure to call ahead to check whether the fuel dock you are counting on will be open, manned and have enough fuel for you to get to your next destination. Great Kills Harbor (SI) is about 10 miles NW of Atlantic Highlands, NJ.

I agree with Ron. Avoid NY fuel docks if you can. You should leave Staten Island with 1.5 times the fuel you need to get to NJ. I'm pretty sure Liberty Landing fuel dock will be open, call ahead to make sure. Once you fill up in NJ you'll be able to get all the way home on one tank (assuming you carry 500 gallons of fuel like I do). Good luck.

I would also say Liberty Landing. Not only for the price, but because it is early in the season. Last year I was one of the first to get fuel at a marina and wound up with a bunch of water. Liberty sells a lot of diesel, year round.
