I really hate most of what Windows 8 brings to the table. I've lost about 1/3 of the area of my touch pad because if I use the right side of the pad I get the stooped Windows 8 window that pops out from the right.

I also have an area on my touch pad in the upper left corner that has a dimple in it and if you inadvertently put your finger there it disables your mouse. Now why in the hell would anyone want to disable their mouse, and why make it so convenient to do that? Why not set it up so a combination of two key strokes is required to do that. Or at least put in an easy method to enable the touch pad instead of having to log out and log back in again?

Did I mention how much I hate Windows 8?

My Dad is 86, my Mum 83. I hooked them onto a computer 10 years ago, and bought him a webcam and set him up on Skype for his 80th birthday. They live 2 hours away from me, my Brother and Sister are in different States, so a plane flight away. Their other relatives are in England,

So Skype has been brilliant for them.

I went through 2 computers with them, and purposefully kept them hooked up with XP.

This year I had to replace it again, and bought a new one with Windows 8.

Aaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!! I lost a fr'n day trying to get their old stuff(which wasn't much) over to the new system. And that was after paying $40 for a data transfer moving software. Oh and their is no Outlook Express anymore! So I had to download, I stall and migrate to Windows Live.

I had my 17 year old daughter with me and we were both struggling, she's an apple girl, and just kept telling me I should hav bought them an apple. I didn't because I was afraid of the difference for them !,

The phone calls over the next month! And the damn thing kept turning off my 'Gotomypc' app, so I couldn't log in!

I had to colour the 2 home keys on the keyboard, do if they got lost they just hit those.

I'm with you. I hate it

Should have bought a Mac. We bought my 30 (for the third time) year old mom a MacBook and we FaceTime weekly. My brother's daughter and her kids FaceTime nana every other day. I'm not trying to sell anything, but the whole no hassle video call thing is just so fantastic.

Henry, I totally agree! With the new version of osx coming out, they will bring back multiple conference chats like they used to have on iChat!

Better yet, get a Mac and install Parallels and Win7 and have the best of both worlds.
