Well It's almost time to gather around all the new Fiberglass for the year, Who's all going? Myself and My wife Maryanne are going, don't know which weekend though, but I'd like to pick up something maybe a new fender, maybe to carress the Fiberglass, who know. The wife really gets jealuos though when I touch another boat. Anyways lets' here's who's all going to the Boat Show In February.

Robert

I made it to the auto show at Cobo!!! But being from Atlanta.....I did not make the boat show!!! I did the auto show on industry day Thursday and the the Atlanta Boat show on Sat......and then I had my fill!! Detroit auto show was AWESOME!

Our dealer just had their big VIP party/open house and it was alot of fun. We got on all the new ones and even had a few cold beers on a Sat. afternoon-doesn't get much better that that in Jan. around here. Now I just got to make it till the Miami boat show in Feb. because they are in the water down there!

I'm going to pass on the Detroit Show this year. It is same week as Miami Boat Show, of which I have a chance to go to for the first time.

Did the VIP/Open House from our local SR Dealer last week which was nice. They are taking on the Lazzara line for the Great Lakes and have one on display. The smallest size is 68ft. - but seemed like 100ft. to me.

Not Impressed at all

Well guys My Wife and I went to the boat show yesterday, we we're not impressed at all. It wasn't as large as it used to be, and they have kept it to one dealership per brand of Boat, no competing at all. There were very few accessories, none that even tempted my taste buds, oh and there was a "Stingray" Exhibit, the Fish type, What in the hell was that doing there, I don't even get it?
Sales people weren't very freindly, one that didn't get to sell us a Boat, ignored us completely, never even considering that we might come back to upgrade someday. Never, Never, Never Diss a customer, not even if they aren't yours. Not in today's economy, you can't afford to lose a sale or a customer.
There was only 1 Sea Ray dealer there, not the best displays either, best part of the show.....Climbing the stairs to get exercise from seeing the boats.....I wasn't even tempted to get my wallet out, for a New 40 foot Sea Ray... I'll go back to my dealer first, they we're awesome and always keep in touch with me, even in the off season.

Anybody going this weekend,i am thinking sunday if the weather is ok.A co worker may ride along he wants a ski boat to pull the girls around with.

We will be there on Saturday to play with the dogs and then hit the casino after. It is suposed to be up in the 30's this weekend!!!! Boat show, birthday and then boating begins.

Re: Not Impressed at all

Robert, that is a sad testimonial you gave of your visit to the boat show. Was it the SeaRay dealer salespeople that ignored you? You are correct when you say never never diss a customer as I can appreciate what you are saying. I have a very long memory when it comes to issues like that and I never forgive or forget when I get less than respectable encounters when it comes to boat shopping. You never know when the customer may open their wallet and decide the time is now. It sounds like you have a great dealer where you live and that is fortunate for you. Spring can't come fast enough!!!

Wow......a four year old thread brought to life!

Attended last year and was disappointed. Very few suppliers but good Sea Ray display. I will pass this year.

Talked to the guys at skipper buds bay city today while i was viositing my boat, they said there are two searay dealers this year but he thought the biggest boat at the show will be under 45 ft.apparently the floor space is too expensive when new boats arent selling.I think i will still go then hit casino and mabey fishbones for dinner.

Well ,how about this year (2013).I never did make it last year. They are advertising it is going to be bigger than last year useing two halls instead of one.Probably be a saturday. It runs the 16-24th of feb.,if weather is not too crappy will probably take the rail to greektown for a late lunch.Glen

I will be going with my girlfriend and possibly a couple of friends. I may possible goto the Grand Rapids show as well.

tgreen do you wet slip or tow your boat all the time?We have a very similar boat in sunset shores yacht club.

1956olds I thought your pic looked like you were in sunset. I actually bought that boat late last year, got a pretty good deal. I am over at skipper buds for the off season but it will be spending the summers at wheelers from now on.

Ok i have probably seen it,mabey yesterday while i was at the boat in heated storage at skipper buds.I was also walking around the cold storage bldg looking for a photo op of some mufflers/exhaust systems.

I plan on going. It's close to home and I like checking out the new Sea Ray's. Plus it's the closest thing to boating in mid February around here.
I advise not to order any food, not much to choose from and it's horrible! Eat before you go.

I'm going, but the wife won't go. She is worried because last year I came home with a new boat :smt001

like i said we will probably go to greektown afterwards,i havent been to fishbones in 7 or 8 years.I love the catfish atchafalaya, gumbo yaya and gator tail appetizer.
