The transducer will make or break you on this... I have the "glue in" style on my ski boat and it works like a charm, but the same transducer on my buddy's yachtline doesn't (didn't) work worth a damn. Our working hypothesis is that on my ski boat the transducer is in a relatively flat area where on the yachtline there was not flat area to put it in, only one side of the vee or the other. He has since added a transom transducer and it works much better. So, yes, here's one vote for a transom transducer.

Ditto, I have the glue in style, it works like a charm and its easy to install.

Tim, do you recall if your buddy used tilted transducer. I think they come with 12 and 20 degrees.

Jon,
Do you have any details on yours (brand/model)?

If the in-hull ducer works fine I would prefer to use it. I have experience with thru-hull and transom mounted ducers, but never with in-hull glue on ones.

Jon,

It looks like there's a flat spot in the bilge, right next to the bilge pump. I would assume your transducer might be flat (not tilted)? Is this where you installed your glue-on ducer?

Has anyone installed a depthfinder on their center console dinghy?

I'm thinking of installing unit like this: http://www.wholesalemarine.com/p/LOW-47-94/

or this: http://www.wholesalemarine.com/p/HU...paign=google&gclid=COq84onp6rUCFQZV4AodJGgALg

Does anyone have any feedback? Do you guys think that transom-mount transducer is the best approach?

I have the Raytheon fishfinder and depthfinder combo on my Yachtline 310. The transducer is mounted on the "fin" in the stern of the hull. I have not been able to get the depthfinder to work consistently accurate. Good luck with your model! What center console did you find?

I went with AB 11 DLX.

Thanks, we can't wait for the weather to roll in so we can start using her. My little one is very excited.

Alex, I put a Hummingbird Fish finder on my 380 Amanzi with a transom mount transducer and it has been great. It's nice to have the accuracy in the little boat because you tend to venture into skinny water more often. Mark
