Our 2004 Sundeck 240 is on a lake. Lake levels are lower than usual. I have the SmartCraft (v. 3.02) with the analog speedometer and tachometer, and the box below it showing the depth, water pressure, oil pressure, rpm, trim, etc. The depth alarm sounds as soon as we start the engine (in about 2-3 ft of water) and lasts for 2-3 minutes, even when we are in deeper water (10 ft), until it finally stops beeping. Accessed the CAL 2 screen (as per SmartCraft manual) and lowered the depth sensor to 0 ft. Alarm still goes off. Called Mercury and their suggestion was to just keep playing around with the Depth Sensor and also the Depth Offset. Even with the sensor set at 0 ft, alarm wound beep for 2-3 minutes. We know the lake well and have a separate fishfinder with depth, so we don't need the alarm. We couldn't find any setting for depth alarm ON/OFF. Is there any way deactivate the alarm or reset the variables so the alarm doesn't go off (we already tried setting to 0 feet). Since the alarm goes off even at 0 ft, do I have a problem somewhere in the entire depth sensor function (transducer, software, etc)?
