Delivery this saturday at PWM

Congrats on the new Sea Ray! I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of her. We don't get on the Potomac very much, but really enjoy the upper Chesapeake.

We pass 4 or 5 on the way out. Which one are you in. I know of occoquan harbor, fairfax, and Belmont bay.

We're in Fairfax. The only one closer to the end of the no wake zone is Belmont Bay.

There is also Captain John S. Beach next to us and closer to the railroad and Route 1 bridges. Right next to PWM is Hoffmasters. I think that covers all of them on the river.

Mike,
Any planning going on for a trip to the bay this year? :)

Captain John and hoffmaster were the ones I was forgetting. So what's the run down to the bay take? I was considering going to the sailboat show in annapolis this fall by water.

When I run to the bay it takes 3-4 hours and its maybe 80 miles. Cobb island is a good halfway point to visit. Its also considered salt water below the 301 bridge.

congratulations. I bet you will have a great time and create some fantastic memories.

Blaster (Luke) has pretty accurate info on the times and a stopping point. That's about what it has run for us. Annapolis is another 64 miles once you make the turn into the bay.

From DC here are the times I've experienced:

3-3.5hr to Colonial Beach
Another 3hr to the bay.
Solomons Island is about 20 miles north of the Potomac

-Solomons Island is a good destination if you don't want to go too far on the bay.
-Crissfield is across the bay.
-Tangier Island is across and just to the south from the Potomac. It's worth a night and is an interesting place to check out. Bring cash. (Make sure you have enoug fuel)

I've never done it, but I'd like to venture down to Virginia Beach at some point.

Keep an eye on the tides. It can get rough at the mouth of the river.

Great first time boating experience. My salesman Steve was kind enough to demo a docking in wind that made it interesting. It was a picture perfect docking in 15 mph winds. We went out a little later after the wind died down. Here we learned the first lesson. It's good to have spares. Halfway to national harbor we blew a trim tab fuse. It was most likely due to me over extending the tabs. So we ran to smoother waters heeling like a sailboat and checked it out. I lucked out and had a correct fuse in the unused accessory circuit. We came in at sunset and then headed out again this morning. Amazing boating when the waters lay down. I think we will be back out next Sunday if the weather permits. If you are at PWM stop by at F-6. I have already figured out my first OCD boating issue. Wet bilge.

Ryan, when are you around? I might try for a trip up to dc next weekend if the weather is good.

We are still wrapped up for winter. The dock water lines at James Creek suffered serious damage over the winter. They've been working on them for two weeks now. We're told they will be operational Monday. That's when we're going to have Eric from PWM up to de-winterize and we have our detailer coming to wax the boat. We should be on the water next weekend. (Fingers crossed)

I feel your pain on wet bilge. It's also not the easiest place to clean.

We keep a tool kit, spare fuses, a tube of silicone, spare hose clamps, duct tape and a few other odds and ends on the boat. Over the years they have all come in handy. We store them in a bright yellow Pelican case.

Well looks like we are going to go out again this weekend. Admiral needs some relaxation time.

There are none better than Eric. He did all the work on my 300DA
