I had some deep scratches, so I ordered the gel coat repair kit from Spectrum. I followed the instructions.....remove wax, fill the scratch, sand with 220, then, 400, then 500.

Now I am left with a dull finish where the scratches were!!! I've tried Maguire's oxidation/scratch remover, and a poilish, but still DULL.

Please help....I was going to splash tomorrow.

Rub it out with 3M Finesse it using a wool wheel turning at 1500 RPMs. This will produce a high shine.

Not seeing it, it sounds like you still need to sand it with 600 wet sandpaper. They say to then use 3m 1 step fiberglass restorer rubbing compound. This should take it up to a shiny finish and then go to a polish or wax. Here's a video on the process. (it's a sticky here on this forum) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWEE6SFUdpg
