Decorah Eagle's Eggs Hatched!

My wife and I have been watching the webcam for a couple of weeks now. It's been fun following process. The babies are doing great and they grow at the rate of pound every 4-5 days. You forget how huge these regal and majestic birds are.
 
I was told an owl tried to attack the nest...I have not seen anything on youtube but that would be an owl in a loosing battle. At the rate the fledglings grow, the parents are going to need to start hauling food to the nest more frequently over the next few months!

It was a small screach owl. Mama let him have whatfor. No problems. The parents are constantly dragging carcasses back to the nest to feed the young uns'. Really cool.
